‘DPS Ranchi ranked as top co-ed day school in Jharkhand’

Friday, 23 September 2022 | PNS | Ranchi

As per the 16th annual EducationWorld India School Rankings (EWISR) 2022-23 (part 1) results of the survey conducted by C- Fore, DPS, Ranchi has been declared as the top co-ed school of Jharkhand. The results of the survey were declared on September 22.

The other schools from across the State which have made it to the top five spots include DPS, Bokaro; Loyola School, Jamshedpur; Chinmay Vidyalay, Bokaro and Little Flower School, Jamshedpur.

To conduct the 2022-23 EWISR survey, the Delhi-based market research, and opinion polls company Centre for Forecasting and Research Pvt. Ltd (C fore, estb.2000) constituted a sample respondents database of 14,221 individuals including school principals, teachers, educationists, fees-paying parents in SEC (socio-economic category) ‘A’, and senior school students in 28 major cities and education hubs across India. To rate and rank the best Government schools, parents in SEC ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ categories were also interviewed. The sample respondents were persuaded to rate India’s most well-known 4,000 primary-secondary schools on 14 parameters of education excellence.

The 14 parameters on which schools have been ranked included academic reputation, competence of faculty, individual attention to students, leadership or management quality and co- curricular education amongst others.

“The sheer scale and depth of EWISR 2022-23 is unprecedented in India and perhaps worldwide. Over a period of four months, 122 field researchers conducted interviews in 28 cities across the country. They persuaded 14,221 SEC A fees paying parents, teachers, principals, educationists and senior school students to rate the schools they were aware of on a ten-point scale under 14 parameters of education excellence. Reclusive, low-profile schools assessed by less than 25 sample respondents were eliminated from the ranking process. The score awarded by every respondent under each parameter was totaled to rank schools in each sub-category,” said Premchand Palety, promoter-CEO of the Delhi-based Centre for Forecasting & Research Pvt. Ltd (C fore, estb.2000) which has been conducting the annual EWISR for EducationWorld for the past 15 years.

"EWISR 2022-23 which rates and ranks 3,500-4,000 of India’s most admired schools in 392 cities and towns countrywide will aid and enable parents to select the most suitable school for their children. Simultaneously, a parallel objective of the annual EWISR — the world’s largest and most comprehensive school ranking survey — is to stimulate and motivate institutional managements to strive for all-round perfection and benchmark themselves with globally respected schools. India’s 1.5 million schools — including 450,000 private schools — have a vitally important responsibility to nurture and develop the world’s largest and most high-potential child and youth population," says Dilip Thakore, Founder-editor of EducationWorld.
