With an aim to attract students towards scientific knowledge of articles of daily use and propagating scientific theories, a week-long nationwide mega science festival ‘ Vigyan Sarvatara Pujyate’ (science is revered all over)” is being launched from Tuesday at 25 locations across the country from Leh and Srinagar to Port Blair.
The event will be inaugurated by Union Minister of Culture G Kishan Reddy and Union Minister of Science & Technology Dr Jitendra Singh.
The National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), an autonomous society under the Union Ministry of Culture is an important partner with Vigyan Prasar, Department. of Science and Technology, said a statement from the Union Culture Ministry here NCSM forms the largest network of science centres and museums in the world under a single administrative umbrella.
The programme will be held in various Indian languages, including Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Nepali, Maithili, and Manipur and will include screening of 75 films on scientific developments/achievements in India, it said.
