Now, Karan Singh’s son Vikramaditya quits Cong

Wednesday, 23 March 2022 | PNS | Jammu

Vikramaditya Singh, elder son of former Sadar-e-Riyasat and Congress stalwart Dr Karan Singh on Tuesday resigned from the primary membership of the party, claiming it has “failed to realize and reflect the sentiments and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir”.

Singh had joined Congress party in October 2018 after quitting Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Singh had started his political innings by first joining the PDP in the presence of Mufti Mohd Sayeed and PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti in the month of August 2014.

On Tuesday afternoon Singh himself posted a copy of his resignation letter on his twitter timeline in which he clearly stated he submitted his resignation to Congress President Sonia Gandhi on March 22, 2022.

In a brief message on his twitter timeline Singh clarified, "My position on critical issues vis-à-vis Jammu & Kashmir which reflect national interests do not align with that of the Congress Party. @INCIndia remains disconnected with ground realities".

Recently Singh had also expressed his views on the film The Kashmir Files. "What happened in Kashmir was nothing short of genocide. Hindus from Kashmir, Doda, Bhaderwah & Kishtwar were killed & driven out of their homeland. I was in Srinagar in 1989. My family suffered irreparable losses thereafter. Hundreds lost their lives. 30 years on justice & closure awaits all those who suffered as a consequence of this brutal genocide. It is clear who the players & enablers were. Shameful to see those in denial" , Maharaja Hari Singh's grandson wrote on his twitter timeline.
