Apparently walking in the footsteps of her Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday directed Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim to make arrangements for Ganga Aarti in the City of Joy too.
During an administrative meeting at State secretariat Nabanna the Chief Minister said, “Ganga Aarti is done in Uttar Pradesh and other parts of India … I am instructing the Kolkata Municipal Corporation to organise Ganga Aarti in Kolkata too … I want a proper place should be identified for the same in Kolkata Corporation area too … the place should be neet and clean and peaceful … there should be Shanti (peace) in the area,” she said.
