A webinar on ‘Opportunity in Data Science for the New Economy’ was organized by Rabindranath Tagore University.

In this webinar, as the keynote speaker, Avik Sarkar, former Head of Data Analytics Cell of NITI Aayog spoke extensively on the importance, use and career prospects of Data Science.

During this the webinar was coordinated by Siddharth Chaturvedi, Director, AISECT Group.

Avik Sarkar told that Data Science means analyzing the data being generated in the internet and cyber world and making the meaning full so that future predictions can be made.

Through these estimates, companies can reduce their expenses and can get good results by investing in the right place. This ensures the success of the business.

He further said that Data Science is a very fast growing sector.

There are lots of job opportunities in this. Talking about career options, there are job profiles like Data Collection, Data Quality Analyst, Data Wrangling, Data Engineer, Database Management, Data Architect, Cloud Management, Data Annotation, Big Data Architect.

Along with this, he discusses the history of Artificial Intelligence. This has made the task of data analysis easier and has opened up a lot of opportunities.

Responding to the questions, Avik Sarkar said that there is no requirement of engineering or computer science studies to get a job in the data science field.

At the end of the webinar, Siddharth Chaturvedi, Director, AISECT Group, expressed his gratitude to Avik Sarkar.

During this program more than 300 people including academicians, professors and students were present.
