Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya launched Pahadi cow milk on the even of Krishna Janmashtami here on Sunday. The minister said that this milk is very beneficial for the health of the aged, women and children.
Launching the Aanchal Pahadi cow milk in Ramnagar, the minister also greeted the people on the eve of Janmashtami. The Pahadi cow milk launched by Aanchal is fully organic and free of chemicals. This milk will be of the cows which graze in the jungles of mountainous areas. The minister said that this product has been prepared keeping the health of women, the aged and children in mind. This milk will be made available in the market in half litre packs. Talking about reviving earlier concepts she said that homes in which guests are welcomed with milk, ghee, Paneer and butter should be considered wealthy. She exhorted the people to also popularise ghee, milk, paneer and dairy products as gifts.
The minister further said that the state government is working to further strengthen the dairy cooperative committees. Work is also underway to increase the incentive amount in order to facilitate this, she said.
The minister also appealed to those in the dairy sector to work in the direction of breed improvement. She talked about artificial insemination achieving 90 birthing of female calves, adding that Uttarakhand is on top among Indian states when it comes to this. She further exhorted all to become involved in fishery, dairy and animal husbandry to increase their own income and improve the economy.
The local MLA Diwan Singh Bisht claimed that the state government is doing well when it comes to Aanchal dairy. He averred that Aanchal milk is making the people self reliant, adding that the youth should also adopt dairy as a business. The government is also providing loans for such purposes. The people should derive the benefit of such governmental schemes, added the MLA.
