CIMFR director elected FAS fellow
Director of CIMFR, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh, has been elected as the “Fellow of Indian Academy of Science” (FASc) by Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangaluru. The Academy elects fellows on the basis of academic excellence in their respective disciplines. It is an unprecedented moment for the whole mining fraternity of the country because Dr. P K Singh is the first amongst Scientist/Academicians working in the mining engineering area to receive this prestigious fellow's. He has vast experience in the mining sector and has authored several books and has to his credit to publish scientific research papers across world journals.
Ease of doing business with Railways
Indian Railways achieved highest ever loading continuously in Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec 2020.Indian Railways has embraced a “Freight on Priority” policy by pushing for an aggressive customer-centric approach to expand the freight carried not only from the traditional segments but also by attracting new customers to its fold. In its commitment to take the level of customer services to new heights, Piyush Goyal, Minister for Railways, Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs and Food & Public Distribution has launched on Tuesday a Freight Business Development Portal as one stop solution for all the needs of freight customers. The Minister said that Indian Railway is an invisible thread which connects the length and breadth of India. During the lockdown, Railway showed its resolve in delivering the essential supplies to the nation in most challenging times and keep national supply chains running. The new portal will be a game changer in ensuring ease of doing business with Railways. The portal will ensure that best services are available to the clients.
CCL/CIL enables LC through Jeevan Pramaan
Retired employees of CCL and other subsidiaries of CIL, who have been paid pension for at least one month can now submit their Life Certificate online through Jeevan Pramaan Application by visiting the nearest Citizen Service Centre (CSC) or banks, which have such facility. Jeevan Pramaan is a biometrically enabled digital service for generating the Digital Life Certificate of retired employees. Coal India Limited has got on board the Jeevan Pramaan Portal of Government of India. This facility is available to retired employees and their spouses. It was inaugurated by Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, CIL in the presence of the Functional Directors of CIL. CPRMSE beneficiaries need to carry their Aadhar Number and a Mobile registered with Aadhar for authentication through OTP. The certificate is generated after the fingerprint is captured by an Aadhar enabled biometric device. This facility if availed will enable submission of a life certificate of CPRMSE beneficiaries in paperless mode.
Diljeet Khanna elected Joint Secretary of AICF
Diljeet Khanna, President of All Bihar Chess Association was elected Joint Secretary of All India Chess Federation in the election held on Monday. Dr. Sanjay Kapoor from U.P. and Bharat Singh Chouhan from Delhi were elected President and Secretary respectively. The new committee includes Sanjay Kapoor as President, DP Anantha, Bhavesh Patel, Vipnesh Bhardwaj, Ajay Ajmera, PC Lalianthanga and Niapung Konia as Vice Presidents, Bharat Singh Chauhan as Secretary, Diljeet Khanna R Rasjesh, Mahendra Dhakal, Atul Kumar, Mughaho Awomi and Atanu Lahiri as Joint-Secretaries and Naresh Sharma as Treasurer.
