Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal is organizing a special lecture on the occasion of World Heritage Week titled 'Himalayan Architecture: Its Grandeur and Significance' delivered by Professors Jai Thakkar and Mansi Shah from CEPT University, Ahmedabad in a special lecture on the topic 'Himalayan Architecture: Its Grandeur and Significance'.
Presiding over the program, the director of the museum, P.K. Mishra said that The art of building construction in Himachal Pradesh, the kath-khuni architecture has given this State a different identity in the world.

Welcoming and introducing Professors Jai Thakkar and Mansi Shah, Surya Kumar Pandey said that Prof. Jay Thakkar is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Design, and Head of Research at Design Innovation and Craft Resource Centre (DICRC) at CEPT University. He has authored 'Naqsh:
The Art of Wood Carving of Traditional Houses of Gujarat: Focus on Ornamentation' (2004) and co-authored 'Matra: Ways of Measuring Vernacular Built Forms of Himachal Pradesh' (2008). He is on the advisory board for craft-related programmes for Indext-C and Cottage and Rural Industries, Government of Gujarat and Prof. Mansi Shah is an architect-urban designer, based in Ahmedabad, India.
She also teaches in the Faculty of Planning at CEPT University and works on independent research projects on different subjects under the Ahmedabad Mapping project, city water walks and Pocket-garden. She has worked as a senior researcher at Design Innovation and Craft Resource Centre, CEPT University. She has carried out projects on innovative ways to support learning.
