Govt working to promote Chhattisgarhi culture: Dr. Dahariya

Urban Administration and Labour Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahariya on Monday said the Chhattisgarh government is trying to promote Chhattisgarhi culture.

He said this at a Madai Mela programme organized in Bhoring village in Mahasamund district.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the ancient tradition of the state is being saved through important schemes like Narva Garuwa, Ghurwa aur Badi, the Minister said.

He said the Madai Mela "is our ancient cultural identity".

To protect these cultures, the government has decided to give holidays for festivals like Hareli, Teej, Rajim Mata and Maa Karma Jayanti and Chhath Puja, he said.

On the occasion, he announced Rs 21 lakh for    developmental works.

Mahasamund MLA Vinod Chandrakar also addressed the gathering.
