Considering the rising numbers of Covid-19 cases in Dehradun, the district magistrate has announced a complete curfew from 7 PM on April 26 to 5 AM on May 3.
This curfew will be enforced in the areas under the purview of the municipal corporation of Dehradun, municipal corporation of Rishikesh and the Clement Town and Garhi cantonments in Dehradun. Similarly, the Nainital district magistrate has ordered a curfew during the same period in Haldwani, Lalkuan and Ramnagar.
The movement of private vehicles will be prohibited though relaxation will be provided for essential works including vaccination and visits to the doctor. Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand high court has been closed from April 26 to 30. May 1 and 2 being Saturday and Sunday respectively, the HC will now reopen on May 3. From May 3, the cases will be heard via video conferencing.
