Bokaro saw a significant spurt in fresh Covid-19 cases; the district recorded 745 new positive cases of coronavirus in a single day surge, which is the highest one of this year, informed AK Pathak Civil Surgeon Bokaro.

The fresh, positive cases of coronavirus include 119 from Chas block area, 38 Jaridih block, 17 Kasmar block, 119 Bermo, 39 Nawadih block, 13 from Gomia block, 07 from Petarwar, 25 from Chandankiyari block and 368 positive cases have been received from Bokaro Steel City and other areas of the district, he said.

“All have been shifted to Covid Hospital, and contact tracing of all is being done,” he added.

The overall number of active cases in the district rushed to 3,340 while the district's death toll stands at 150, including eight on Thursday. Meanwhile, 334 patients were recovered and discharged from the hospital, said Pathak.

Expressing concern over the huge spurt in positive cases in the district, Rajesh Kumar Singh, DC Bokaro said, more security and vigilance are necessary. “Everyone needs to be cautious,” he added.

Masks must be applied, follow social distance; wash your hands with soap at regular intervals. The best way is for all of you to be safe in your own homes, he appealed.

Through this, people will be able to get information about ICU with oxygen beds and ventilators available in hospitals.

They can be able to book beds online in hospitals and Nursing Homes. Information of hospitals of Bokaro district and nearby districts will also be available on this web portal, he said.
