Classical singing, Tabla-Dholak jugalbandi held under ‘Gamak’

Under Gamak series, Ustad Alauddin Khan Sangeet and Kala Akademi organised event on Wednesday.

Classical singing by Poorvi Sapre and group of Bhopal and Tabla and Dholak Jugalbandi by Sanjeev Nagar, Satyam Nagar and group of Bhopal were presented. It was broadcasted live on the department's YouTube channel.The presentation began with singing by Poorvi Sapre and companions. The artist performed three talas in Raag Yaman, Ustad Aman Ali Khan Sahab's composition Sugam Roop Suhave Salone Mai. On the stage, Ustad Ikrar Hussain accompanied on tabla and Atul Archwal on harmonium.

The second presentation was presented by Sanjeev Nagar, Satyam Nagar and companions on Tabla and Dholak Jugalbandi. In this, the artists showed their skill while jugalbandi in three rhythms. Jitendra Sharma accompanied on the harmonium wave on the stage.

The artists chose to bring smiles on faces by playing the tuneful jugalbandi in teen-taal. As they began the performance, there was pin-drop silence at the hall. The performers on the other hand tried to cope up with each other.

It was a musical tussle where both of them sometimes tried to match-up and sometimes tried to catch-up. Each taal of theirs was enthralling the audience at the hall. The finale of the jugalbandi exceeded the expectations and the duo presented the performance in a generous way letting the audience clap for them till the end.
