Saturday, 08 May 2021 | PNS | Bokaro

In order to strengthen the hands of Bokaro’s hospitals in the battle with Covid-19, the Bokaro Steel Plant has decided to provide free oxygen to Bokaro’s hospitals.

Those hospitals that need oxygen can get their empty cylinders filled at the Bokaro Steel Plant. Director-in-charge of BSL, Amarendu Prakash informed this decision that in this hour of disaster, Bokaro Steel Plant is ready to help Covid patients and meet the oxygen needs in hospitals of Bokaro in joint hand with the district administration.

To fill oxygen in their empty cylinders, such hospitals will first have to forward their application to the district administration, after that oxygen will be filled free of cost in their cylinders at Bokaro Steel Plant.

Sharing the information COC MK Dhan said BSL team is also engaged on a war footing to prepare additional oxygen beds for Covid patients.

Under the guidance of the Director-in-Charge, the work of laying the pipeline of gaseous oxygen directly from the plant to the HRD Centre and BGH is in rapid progress. In order to increase the facility of additional oxygen beds, a temporary hospital of about 50 beds is being built in the HRD centre of BSL in the first phase.

This Centre will be ready in the next 10 days and all the facilities for the treatment of patients are being provided here. A pipeline of gaseous oxygen is being laid from the plant to Bokaro General Hospital where 100 additional oxygen beds are being prepared for treatment.

In view of the increasing number of patients, BSL is also trying to reinstate doctors and nurses on contract basis.

In addition to these efforts, 10 additional non-invasive ventilators have been called for the treatment of patients at Bokaro General Hospital, which will be available soon. Efforts are also on to maintain the availability of vaporizers and other necessary equipment and essential medicines in the hospital.
