Thursday, 23 September 2021 | PNS | BALANGIR

A sensitisation meeting on forest and wildlife protection was held at Phuljharan village in Balangir forest range recently. Phuljharan was recently in news as a leopard killed a small goat in that village almost a fortnight ago.

Honorary Wildlife Warden Balangir Sudhir Kumar Mishra explained the need for forest and wild life protection and water conservation whichwould help in meeting the growing challenges of restoring ecological balance. It would be beneficial to avoid visiting forest alone. When required, move in group with lathis, Misha advised. Among others, Forester Ashok Seth and Forest Protection Committee president Madhab Bariha spoke. Some villagers also narrated their experiences on the occasion.
