The Vigilance police on Tuesday caught Dr Nabakishore Behera, Additional District Public Health Officer of Subarnapur district red-handedwhile accepting a bribe of Rs 16,000.
Behera had demanded the bribe from a complainant to favour him in his Performance Appraisal Report (PAR) for extension of his contractual engagement with higher pay.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches were carried out on Behera’s residential Government quarter at Patabhadi and residential building at Dunguripali in Subarnapur and his house at native village at Phulbani, in Kandhamal district.
Later, the accused was arrested and forwarded to court.
