Urja Joshi launches book ‘Yellow: the verses of hurting & healing’

Author Urja Joshi launched her book ‘Yellow: the verses of hurting & healing’. The title clearly indicates that the readers are going to find dual elements in the book. Filled with verses and art, delivering messages of healing and the pain of hurting, Yellow is a poetry collection, divided into two phases: MOHI & KABIR. Mohi symbolises “the hurting” and Kabir is all about “ the healing” that comes after it. The author describes the Journey of her book in nutshell.

“To be very honest, pandemic has played a huge role in my writing career and as absurd it might sound, I am grateful to have this productive break in 2020. When we all were following strict lockdown, I did nothing for months but read and write. I discovered so many new authors and their work has inspired me so much. And I guess to be a great writer , one should be a great reader first, because that’s how you get inspired to create great art. Talking about the kind of influence I want this book to have on my readers, I can say it’s not limited to a single thing and to be frank its very subjective, some of my readers told me they were so inspired to read yellow that they started writing their own books”

Talking about the readers the author explains “I think if we read something that we have gone through or at any point of our lives , we have felt it, then it’s easy to connect with it or relate to it no matter how great the art is, how difficult the poem is, anyone can connect if they feel that the artist understands them. I have read some amazing poets who sometimes put exactly what’s on my mind in their verses.”
