Uber offers free rides to healthcare workers

The Delhi Government has joined hands with Uber - Ride hailing platform offering free rides for emergency services. According to Über , it will provide free charge transport for frontline  healthcare workers/ Government officials on COVID-19 related duties.

Using microblogging site twitter, Uber tweeted : Proud to pledge free rides worth INR 75 Lakhs to Delhi Govt., for transporting frontline healthcare workers, and other essential services

In their repose, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also tweeted :Thank you for your support for Delhi’s healthcare workers. It is heartening to see so many organisations pitching in to help fight Corona

It may be recalled Über recently launched its UberMedic service to facilitate the transportation of frontline medical workers in 28 hospital across 14 cities in India. All UberMedic cars being provided to the Delhi government are fitted with a roof-to-floor plastic sheeting.
