Congress Legislature Party Leader Narasingha Mishra on Saturday said the Government ordered a probe by the Special Investigation (SIT) into the Nayagarh minor girl Pari’s murder case following a strong demand by his party.
Speaking at a Press conference, Mishra said the Congress raised the issue robustly in the Assembly on Friday, following which the Chief Minister was forced to come to the House and announced a SIT probe into the incident.
He said Minister Arun Sahoo should resign if there should be an impartial probe into the incident.
He said his party raised the closure of schools issue following which the State Government announced that no schools would be closed in the KBK region and the Scheduled Areas.
Besides, the party has raised the Puri and Sundargarh custodial deaths, the Cuttack gold loan company robbery and the deteriorating law and order situation in the State vociferously.
Mishra urged BJP to stage an walkout during Appropriation Bill which is scheduled to be presented in the Assembly on Sunday to prove that it is not hand-in-glove with the BJD.
