The Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava has urged its department to adopt newer technology and register daily diaries (DDs) online.
According to the order, since the daily diaries are being received online, except for special reason, hard copies may not be got printed. "All may view the daily diaries online and take necessary action. We may adopt to newer technology and save the paper. All concerned need to be briefed accordingly," the order reads.
The order was signed on Thursday and marked to all Special Commissioners of Police and Joint Commissioners of Police. A daily diary entry is made when any kind of complaint is lodged and when police believe that there is some prima facie evidence of a cognisable offense being committed, it is registered as an FIR. Making daily dairy paperless is an another move towards digitisation, police said.
Meanwhile on Friday, the Northern Range of Delhi Police conducted briefing sessions for their police staff in all the police stations.
According to Manish Kumar Agrawal, the Joint Commissioner of Police, Northern range, the sessions were conducted by the prominent doctors of their areas, to educate about the safety precautions and to instill a sense of confidence among the police personnel.
