Post Graduate Certificate Course in Medical Management of CBRNE Disasters (PGCMDM) programme’ has been inaugurated on 10th January, 2020 at AIIMS, Bhopal by Prof YK Gupta, President, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal in the presence of Prof Sarman Singh, Director, AIIMS, Bhopal.
Along with AIIMS, Bhopal, the course has been started simultaneously in three other Learner Support Centers in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
It is a six-month PG Certificate Course programme in the Medical Management of CBRNE disasters through open and distance learning for MBBS doctors. The 6-month course will have contact duration of 15 days, 10 days at INMAS and 5 days at Learner Support Centre (AIIMS, Bhopal).CBRNE disaster implies Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives.
It is for the first time that such a course in CBRNE Disaster Management is initiated in the country. Information about the course is available on the website of AIIMS, Bhopal (www.aiimsbhopal.edu.in) under the head of ‘IGNOU Regional Center’. Registration for the course is now open.
