Finally, by the intervention of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, three postgraduate courses in the Swami Vivekananda National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR), Olatpur have been restored.
The Utkal University authorities have directed the SVNIRTAR Director to allow the affiliated courses of MPT and MOT with present teaching faculty and, if necessary, with visiting guest faculty or contractual faculty as per convenience.
Earlier, the Kalinga Bikash Manch had requested Prime Minister Narendra Moda and the Chief Minister to intervene and ask the director not to do away with three PG courses, Physiotherapy (Neurology), Physiotherapy (Paediatrics) and Occupational Therapy. The director had earlier made several attempts to drop the courses citing different reasons, alleged the Manch.
