Governor honours Dharmendra Gill
Shimla: Himachal Governor Bandaru Dattatraya honoured Managing Director of Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) Dharmendra Gill at Raj Bhawan on Monday. This honour was given for developing one its kind web-based application by the SJPNL at the local level to monitor water supply time in Shimla city and ensuring balance of chlorine content in the water. The Governor congratulated the entire team of the SJPNL for this achievement and said, this effort is commendable. This software will not only prove helpful in streamlining the pure water supply of Shimla city, but other states of the country will also get the benefit this technology, he added.
Sukhbir provides CTM to jalalabad hospital
Firozepur: Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal handed over an imported Covid testing machine worth of Rs 20 lakh to the Jalalabad civil hospital to assist in measures to contain the deadly virus in the state. He also provided 50,000 bottles of sanitizer for the people of the parliamentary constituency. Earlier, he had given one fully equipped ambulance for the constituency, with an objective that no one is deprived of medical assistance in border belt. Sukhbir said he would provide one lakh sanitizer bottles to the people of this constituency.
Consumers to get smart electricity meters
Shimla: Himachal Governor Bandaru Dattatraya has emphasised on providing smart electricity meters to the consumers so that the process of meter reading could be simplified in the state. In a meeting with Additional Chief Secretary, Power and Forest Ram Subhag Singh at Raj Bhawan, the Governor discussed various issues pertaining to power and revival strategies after lockdown. The ACS apprised that the state has nearly 22 lakh electricity consumers and the government is working on replacing old meters with smart meters. In the first phase, about 1.50 lakh meters would be changed to smart meters in Shimla and Dharamshala smart cities and the process would be completed within one year. He said, the government is working on revival strategies after lockdown due to Covid-19 so that various economic and developmental activities could be streamlined.

PRdoa hands over check for CM Relief Fund
Chandigarh: The Rural Development officers Association contributed Rs 2 lakh to Chief Ministers Relief Fund. The Association members said, the Punjab Government in the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is fighting a war against the deadly virus and state is going through a very difficult period. They said that the state needs lot of money to win this battle but all the sources of income for the government were closed from almost last 2 months. Therefore being responsible citizens of the state they have contributed a little bit to the CM Relief Fund.
Cong attacks Kirron Kher for being absent
Chandigarh: Chandigarh Congress on Monday once again questioned the absence of local MP Kirron Kher from the city amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Congress pointed out that if the Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore, the UT Advisor, Deputy Commissioner and other officers can hold meetings every day in the war room, then why can’t MP Kirron Kher also attend these meetings and express her opinion on issues of residents. The city Congress president Pradeep Chhabra said, “The local MP has been missing for a month now. Today, when the businesses are closed due to lockdown and people have lost their means of earning, shouldn’t MP raise her voice for electricity, water bill and tax exemption for residents?
