Bhubaneswar on Thursday registered a record number of 126 Covid-19 cases. With this, the capital city’s total positive tally reached 1,469 with 651 active ones.

While 93 cases were from home quarantine, 33 were local contacts. The quarantine cases included as many as 35 cases linked to a single flour mill at Mancheswar linked to an earlier positive case. On Wednesday, 26 staffs of the same mill had tested positive.

Besides, nine cases, all men of Chandrasekharpur near 7th Battalion, linked to an earlier positive case, seven cases on Unit-2 MG Road linked to an earlier positive case, four cases, three men and a woman of Rasulgarh, near OCC Colony linked with an earlier positive case, two cases, 30-year-old man and 38 year-old woman, both employees of a private hospital linked with an earlier positive case also tested positive in quarantine.

The local contacts included a 34 year-old man of Patia, a 25-year-old man of Unit-9 Gridco Colony, a 25-year-old male security guard of a Central Government hospital, a 47-year-old man of Ashok Nagar PHD Colony, a 41-year-old man of IRC Village N-6, a 59-year-old man of Unit-2, a 21-year-old woman of Lewis road near Ravi Talkies, a 36-year-old woman of the New Forest Park area. two cases of Unit-1 near Kasturba Nari Mahal, two cases of Unit-4 MLA Colony, four cases, all employees of another private hospital and two women employees of another private hospital and a 36-year-old man of Pokahriput Lingaraj Vihar.
