With the aim to provide quality treatment to the patients, the state government has set up an Electronic Covid Care Support System (ECCSS) to give guidance and support to doctors and other health staff of Level-1, Level-2 and Level-3 dedicated Covid hospitals.
Principal Secretary (Heath) Amit Mohan Prasad said during his daily media briefing that a system had been developed to ease out day-to-day problems related to treatment and other issues concerning COVID-19 under which doctors could consult experts at the time of crisis.
He said that the Covid hospitals of western UP would reach out to an expert team of Meerut Medical College in case any guidance is needed and if they fail to solve the problem, they could approach Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow.
Similarly, the Covid hospitals of central UP will contact the expert team at GSVM Medical College in Kanpur and if the experts there fail to solve the issue, they will take help from experts of King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow.
For Covid hospitals of eastern UP, experts at Moti Lal Nehru Medical College in Prayagraj will give the advise for any problem and if they fail, then an expert team at Banaras Hindu University will resolve the issue.
Prasad said that 4,861 tests were conducted on Saturday while another 1,365 samples were tested through 273 pools.
“The chief minister has asked the Health department to double the coronavirus tests in the state to around 10,000 per day and for this he has suggested use of labs of different government departments,” he said.
In UP, there are 467 coronavirus hotspots under 308 police stations in 71 districts covering 8.77 lakh houses with a population of 49 lakh.
The official said that 2,931 members of Tablighi Jamaat were identified in the state and 2,670 of them were put in quarantine.
