Aeronautics College head axed for duty negligence
Koruput: Aeronautics College, Sunabeda Principal Bibhuti Bhushan Lenka has been suspended for negligence in duty by Aeronautics Education Society (EAS) General Secretary Sudeepto Chaterjee. Chaterjee took the action on the report of the HAL Vigilance Department, which conducted a probe and found the Principal guilty of misconduct.
TU leaders assist poor in Jajpur Road
Jajpur Road: Social workers and trade union leaders Chandramani Samal and Dushmanta Rout on Monday distributed rice, dal, chuda, biscuits, soaps, masks, etc., to 50 jobless labouers’ families of Sahar Sahi and Sethi Sahi here. They have been continuing their social service since the corona outbreak by maintaining social distancing.
Premature baby abandoned under bridge at Baripada
Baripada: A premature baby boy was found abandoned under the bridge of Jarali river near the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College Hospital here on Monday. Some sanitation workers of the hospital rescued the baby and shifted him to the hospital. The infant had a minor injury on his right cheek and was bleeding profusely. The doctors attending to the newborn said the baby was born six-month premature and was underweight. He is in a critical condition and under intensive care.
UAIL distributes 1 lakh masks
Bhubaneswar: In a bid to combat the COVID-19 spread, the Utkal Alumina International Limited (UAIL), Doraguda, an unit of theAditya Birla Group in Kashipur Block of Rayagada district has so far distributed more than 1lakh masks to its stakeholders in its area of operation in Rayagada and Kalahandi district .UAIL president and unit head N Nagesh said, “It’s a fulfilling experience for us to serve our stakeholders especially our community and district administration at this time of crisis by distributing masks which is one of the many other initiatives we are taking.”
