A 13-year-old boy of Gadamanati village under the Begunia police limits in Khordha district committed suicide after he was rebuked by his mother over playing game on a mobile phone onSaturday.
According to reports, the mother reprimanded the boy, who was a student of Class-IX, for playing the mobile phone game for a long period of time. As the boy did not pay heed to her words, she snatched away the phone from him.
The boy then went inside the bathroom and took the extreme step of hanging himself to death.
Being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the body for postmortem. Further investigation was underway.
