The responsibility of social audit has been given to the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on the implementation of government schemes at the school, residential school, BSA office, ABSA office, Block Resource Center (BRC) of the Department of Basic Education across the district. The AMU team will evaluate and verify the availability of payment and content made concerning schemes in Kasturba Gandhi Residential Schools, BRC and offices.
Its report will be sent directly to the State Project Office. Tappal, Bijauli, Dhanipur and Lodha blocks have been selected in the initial phase. A team of 5 members has been formed under the direction of the Department of Social Work AMU for evaluation and verification. The team inspected Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls Schools and BRC in Bijauli and Tappal area.
According to the sources, this social audit has caused a lot of uproar at the BRC level. Activities regarding the implementation of schemes on BRC are not organized. After this decree, the exercise has been started to improve the arrangements on BRC.
Under this process, the purchased goods, bills and availability related to the schemes will also be inspected at the residential schools and BRC. Whether information of schemes is uploaded on the portal, children are getting the benefit of the schemes or not? All these will be checked and report
BSA Dr. Laxmikant Pandey said that this process is called a third-party audit. This is the first time a third-party audit is being conducted in the Basic Education Department. Earlier this had been happening only at the panchayat level. Four blocks have been selected in the initial phase. Later AMU's team will decide the action plan from its level.
Dr. Naseem Ahmed Khan, HOD, Department of Social Work, AMU and Principal Investigator, Composite Education Campaign said that this responsibility has been given by the State Project Office. A five-member team of AMU is involved in it. After completion of Aligarh work, the team will also do verification in Etah, Kasganj, Hathras. Schools will also be included in this process when students come.
