26-year-old Qasim Khan, son of Anwar, of Jhalkari Nagar in Jangalgarh bypass of Dehli Gate police station area of Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh, has converted to Hinduism and become a Karmaveer along with his wife and children. The daughter and son have also been named according to Hinduism.
He was purified at the Arya Samaj temple. Qasim / Karmaveer said that this is his home coming. His ancestors were Hindus. However, he feels insecure due to fear of radicals and demanding protection from the administration.
8 years ago, Qasim, a resident of Jhalkari Nagar, had married a Hindu girl named Anita Kumari in 2012 and separated from his family (parents) after marriage. His daughter is 7 years old and his son is 4.5 years old. Qasim's wife worships in the house according to Hinduism. Qasim said that no religion is wrong and he came to know about Hindu customs from Anita after marriage and arose in his mind that his ancestors were also Hindus. He then decided to renounce his conversion from Islam to Hinduism. This is the voice of their conscience. He then contacted social activist Neeraj Bhardwaj and others and expressed his desire to adopt Hinduism and went to the authorities with his wife and children but no one took it seriously. One lawyer advised him to visit the Arya Samaj temple. He requested an affidavit through Neeraj Bhardwaj to the Arya Samaj temple at Sasni Gate.
On Sunday, in the presence of the priests, the whole family converted to Hinduism amid havan-puja and chanting. Karamaveer (Qasim) and his family have left Jhalkari Nagar 3 days ago because of fear.
Neeraj Bhardwaj, who assisted him in conversion and Qasim are getting threatening calls over their phone by unknown persons. They are demanding protection from the district administration for their safety.
