Assam Rifles wins All India Police Commando competition

The closing ceremony of the 9th All India Police Commando Competition was held at the Karbi Anglong Sports Association Stadium in Diphu, Assam yesterday. The event was attended by a number of senior Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and State Police Force officers. The event was graced by the Director General Assam Rifles Lieutenant General Sukhdeep Sangwan, SM, as the chief guest. A cultural programme showcasing the North East was the main attraction of the event. Speaking at the occasion, the DG Assam Riffles stressed on the importance of conducting such events which foster competitive spirit, provide a platform to enhance professional skills and fine tune the Special Action drills which is an important aspect for any team undertaking the Special Mission tasks. He also felicitated Brigadier Arjun Segan, SM, DIG, ARTC&S for having conducted the event efficiently. The Assam Rifles team won the prestigious trophy and the ITBP and BSF teams secured the second and third positions respectively.
