nCity Kotwali police on Friday nabbed one Rajkishor, believed to be the kingpin in the Virat abduction case, from Mirganj in Bihar.
Police also seized sim cards and mobile phone from which he used to make calls Virat’s parents for ransom.
Notable, six-year-old Virat Saraf was abducted on April 20 last month from a busy road in Bilaspur. He was rescued by Kotwali police on April 26 from the custody of two of the accused who were arrested from their hiding in Jarhabhata locality of the city.
Virat was abducted by a Bihar-based gang when he was playing in front of his house. Two of the abductors who made telephone calls for ransom were trapped after call details and their mobile location were traced. But the mastermind Rajkishor was absconding.
Police had informed media that the very next day of the abduction, Rajkishor fled from the spot via road and used to make ransom calls from various hideouts in Bihar.
When the cyber cell traced the location of Rajkishor a couple of days ago, superintendent of police formed a police team and sent it to Mirganj in Bihar. Police raided the possible hideouts and succeeded in arresting Rajkishor, police said.
The accused is at present under police custody.
