Tribal dances of MP, Guj showcased at Dharohar festival

Presentations of tribal dances of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat were presented on Saturday under Dharohar festival. The dances were performed at Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum.

Rup Singh Kusharam (Dindori), along with his fellow artists, begar the series of performances. He performed the 'Karma dance' of the Gond tribe to the audience. The Gond tribes eat their Nava in the Shukla Paksha of Bhadon month by worshiping their deity, Kul Dev, Bada Dev and other deities.

Only after eating Nava, this dance is performed again with new zeal and gaiety. The Karma dance was presented to the audience by Rup Singh Kusharam along with about 15 fellow artists on the song 'Pani Giriya Jhim Ke, Nagar Fandai Milke' in the museum courtyard through his artistic dance medium.

During the dance performance, Kalarin Bai, Rekha, Sulochana, Mati Bajri Bai, Nahar Singh, Sanjeev, Dalveer and Bihari Bhavedi etc. captivated the audience with their dancing skills. During the presentation, Shiv Charan Kusharam and Khuman Singh Kusharam Mandal, Satish Bhavedi on Timki and Ravi Marco accompanied dancers on Shehnai.

Mansharam (Harda) along with his fellow performers presented the 'Thapti dance' of the Korku tribe to the audience. This dance is performed in special festivals and festivals. In this dance both the male pancha and the female dancers play the chitkora in the hand.

Thapati dance is performed in the month of Vaishakh month. The main instrument of this dance is the dholak and flute. During the dance performance, Narayan, Ganesh, Tarachand, Annu, Ramrati, Pooja and Jyoti etc. mesmerized the audience with their dancing skills. During the dance performance, Anokhi Lal and Balaram collaborated on the drum and Mansaram and Parshuram collaborated on the flute.

Mori Zakir Bhai (Gir Somnath) presented the 'Siddhi Dhamal Nritya' of the Siddhi tribe to the audience along with his fellow artists. This dance is performed on the occasion of marriage. The enthusiasm and gaiety of the dancing artists in this dance is worth seeing.

This dance is usually performed on the drum. During the dance performance, Zakir, Sahil, Ezaz, Ramadan and Nasuruddin mesmerized the audience with their dancing skills. Hussain, Mona in Dhol, Sadiq and Imran accompanied the dancers.
