Following the election of two ministers of the Yogi Adityanath government to the Lok Sabha, both members of the Business Advisory Committee of Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Speaker Hriday Naryan Dikshit has reconstituted the committee.
The two UP ministers elected to the Lok Sabha are Rita Bahuguna Joshi from Allahabad and Satyadeo Pachauri from Kanpur.
The two new members inducted into the Business Advisory Committee are Gulab Devi (Minister of State for Social Welfare) and Virendra Singh Sirohi (BJP MLA from Bulandshahr.
The 13-member committee comprising MLAs from all parties considers and decides the agenda of the House during each session.
Ajay Kumar Lallu is a special invitee to the committee.
As per the rules of the Business for the Conduct of Proceedings of UP Assembly, 1958, the Speaker is the ex officio Chairman of the Business Advisory Committee.
The members of the committee are leader of opposition Ram Govind Chowdhary, Yasir Shah (both from the Samajwadi Party) Lalji Verma from Bahujan Samaj Party, Neelratan Singh Patel (Apna Dal), Om Prakash Rajbhar (Suheldeo Bhartiya Samaj Party). The six ministers who are member of the committee are Suresh Kumar Khanna (Parliamentary Affairs Minister), Swami Prasad Maurya (Labour Minister), Ramapati Shastri (Social Welfare Minister), Lakshmi Narayan Chaudhary (Minority Affairs Minister), Sidharth Nath Singh (Health Minister), Gulabo Devi (Minister of State for Social Welfare).
