Ministry of Railway has cleared the proposal of extending Rourkela-Koraput Express train till Jagdalpur, the tribal heartland of Bastar region.
This will benefit the people from Bastar division to commute to state of Odisha with ease.
Rajya Sabha member of Bharatiya Janata Party, Ramvichar Netam had raised the demand before the Railway ministry.
Through a letter to Netam, the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal informed him that he had approved the proposal of extending 18107/10108 Rourkela-Koraput Express till Jagdalpur. Soon, the service will commence, which will pave way for socio-economic development of the Bastar region, Goyal expressed his anticipation.
