RMNH organises ‘Bird Watching Programme’

Regional Museum of Natural History (A Regional Centre of National Museum of Natural History, New Delhi), Bhopal organised ‘Bird Watching Programme’ on the occasion of World Bird Day on November 12, 2019 at Saras Biodiversity Centre, Bishenkhedi, Bhopal.

Thirty five students of class 6 to 12 from various schools/ NGO of Bhopal participated in this programme. During the programme, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Scientist-In-charge detailed about identification methods, migration, activities, ecological services of birds etc.

More than 25 species of birds like Indian Roller, Pond Heron, Little Cormorant, Laughing Dove, Small Egret, Parakeet, Indian Robin, Small Blue Kingfisher, Large Egret, Grey Heron, Red Wattled Lapwing, Lesser White Throat, Magpie Robin, Purple Sunbird, Common Iora, Green Bee Eater, Jacana, White Bustard Kingfisher, Cocal, Purple Heron, Black Drongo, Bay Backed Shrike etc were spotted during this programme.

During the programme, Gautam Singh Yadav, Photographer, Sushil Kumar Chourey, Stenographer, Govind Singh Mewada and Virendra Singh Mewada from Bishenkhedi, Naresh Motwani were present.
