BJD president Naveen Patnaik on Saturday appointed MLA Bijay Kumar (Badal) Mohanty as State general secretary of the party and entrusted him with the charge of observer of Bhubaneswar organising district.
Similarly, Patnaik appointed Pramod Kishore Jena and Sarada Prasanna Jena as BJD State general secretaries and Debi Prasad Bhutia, Harsha Vardhan Singh Deo, Shashi Kumar Sahoo and Durga Prasad Samantray as State secretaries. Durga Prasad was entrusted with the charge of co-observer for the Bhubaneswar-North Assembly constituency.
Besides, Sudhir Kumar Das and Sushil Ray were named BJD co-observer for Kantamal Assembly constituency and Baleswar district, respectively.
Other functionaries appointed by Patnaik include Bhubanananda Das and Girish Chandra Das as vice-presidents and Manoj Kumar Rout, Ashis Ghosh and Arun Charterjee as secretaries of Baleswar district unit of the BJD.
Patnaik appointed Mihir Ranjan Parida as BYJD State vice-president Lohit Kumar Mohanty as working president of BYJD Kendrapada district. The suspension order on former Deogarh MLA Sanjib Kumar Pradhan was lifted by the BJD supremo, informed BJD State general secretary Bijay Nayak.
