In the alleged rape case registered against Uttar Pradesh based ‘god-man’ and his aide, magisterial statements of both the purported victims could not be recorded on Monday. Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi said only on the basis of proof will further actions be taken.
Superintendent of Police (city) Shweta Choubey said, “Application for the magisterial statement has been filed. On Monday the complainants went with the Investigating Officer at the crime scene and for other necessary part of the investigation.” According to police, on Sunday the local police recorded the statements of about 25 women who according to one of the complainants were present at the Ashram for the religious gathering. It is suspected that there was no religious gathering on the said day on which the complainant has alleged she was raped. As this is a case of delayed FIR and the alleged victim’s allegations are being ascertained, the local police are focusing on completing their initial investigation first. It is pertinent to mention here that police are checking all angles as one of purported victim is a relative of one of the accused against whom god-man Chandramohan filed a case accusing him of extortion in Uttar Pradesh.
It will be recalled that two women on Friday filed a complaint against Chandramohan who is the head of Paramdham Nyas, his aide and branch manager of Dehradun Ashram, Kuldeep and two other women. One of the complainant stated that both the branch manager and god-man raped her while the other two women were their accomplices.
