The State Government on Friday suspended labour officer Shailendra Singh Solanki of Pithampur Industrial area Dhar due to the negligence in duty and not taking care of the labourers of pithampur industrial area.

As per the orders, labour office Indore AP Saxena will be the new labour officer of Pithampur industrial area. Suspended labour officer Shailendra Singh Solanki will be attached to Indore head office.

The Pioneer in its February 18, 2019 edition had published the pitiable condition of labourers of the Pithampur industrial area with the title ‘Labourers at industrial area deprived of rights’. The laborers working in the Pithampur industrial area are often deprived by the rights by the industrialist whenever they meet any accident while working in the factory as in the most of the industries of Pithampur industrial area the workers who are engaged in factories as laborers are given the job of working on machines.

Recently a labor Gajraj Singh reported to the industrial health and safety department officer Pithampur Rajesh

Yadav that his fingers were chopped and his ribs were broken while working on the machine in Shakti Pumps India limited sector 3 Pithampur few years back but the company has not paid any compensation to him as he was engaged through the private contractor and recently the company has ended his service. It is to be noted that Pithampur is big industrial area comprising of more than 700 factories and more than one lakh workers are engaged in these factories as laborers.
