In a bid to encourage and also eyeing the upcoming elections, the Delhi Government on Thursday inaugurated Delhi tourism 2020 calendar with a special theme, ‘Incredible Story of Delhi Government
School’ depicting a special focus on the major activities done by the Aam Aadmi party (AAP) Government in the improvement of infrastructure in Delhi schools.
With ‘education’ as the theme, the 2020 calendar was inaugurated by the Delhi Education and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday.
“When I ask people about the development work brought about by the Delhi Government in last five years, they always speak about the progress this city has made in the domain of Education. To keep education in the minds of the people and the revolution brought about in the Government schools of Delhi, we are releasing this calendar today,” the Minister said.
‘The Incredible Story of Delhi Government Schools’ focuses on huge infrastructural transformation brought about by the dedicated efforts of the Delhi Government in collaboration with Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC). As per the officials, the idea behind choosing this theme is to emphasize on the importance and vitality of education in our lives.
The 2020 calendar will establish the developments such as well-furnished classrooms, well-equipped labs, clean and hygienic toilets along with constructing well-lit auditoriums and clean swimming pools for the students, the Delhi school system has come a long way done by the government. The calendar will be distributed to the entire school teacher working in the Delhi Government schools.
There are about 1,200 schools funded by Delhi Government with having about 7,600 teachers.
Like every year, Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) has brought out this theme-based calendar on behalf of Government of Delhi, bringing to fore the infrastructural transformation of Delhi Government Schools and quality up gradation in the overall experience of its students, said the officials.
“People should know that the Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC) has played a very important role in developing infrastructure of Delhi Government schools and carrying out their overall renovation. Delhi Government Schools are crucial spaces wherein a child learns to imbibe the best possible aspects of their surroundings,” Sisodia said.
Delhi Tourism has been publishing the theme basis calendar every year following the directions of the Government for over past three decades. Last year the theme commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and was conceptualised on his many visits to Delhi between 1915 and 1948. The Calendar became very popular amidst the industry and also won a prize.
