IIT BBS to partner with AOTS, Japan

The Indian Institute of technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar is going to partner with the Japanese Government’s Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) to promote technical cooperation.

The AOTS is established under the Japanese’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and works in developing countries as well as implements some self-sustainable-social business-based projects in cooperation with the Japanese companies.

Welcoming the delegates, IIT BBS Director Prof RV Rajakumar said the partnership would focus towards professional development of students, creation of multiple academic and business opportunities, including events to promote education, internships and employment for students.

“We want to explore the broader-options beyond in areas like robotics, augmented and virtual reality, energy climate change and other areas. The synergies would be greatly beneficial for the both the nations for their new technological developments which would be of paramount importance,” added Rajakumar.

The AOTS would be establishing the projects to bridge Japanese companies and students of IIT Bhubaneswar through Japan desk, Japan week and Japan languages training.

Among others, IIT BBS Dean (R and D) Prof RK Panda, School of Minerals, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Head Prof Sujit Roy, Continuing Education and Alumni Affairs and International Relations Dean Prof Swarup Kumar Mahapatra, School of Earth, Ocean and Climate Sciences Head Dr Sandeep Pattnaik and Career Development Cell Head Dr Arun Kumar Pradhan were present.
