The Regional Office of the IMD here on Thursday issued yellow warning for many parts of the State due to formation of a low pressure over coastal parts of neighbouring West Bengal on Friday.
While heavy to very heavy rainfall would lash Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Deogarh and Sambalpur districts, intense rainfall would lash parts of Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Gajapati, Ganjam, Boudh, Subarnapur, Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Baleswar, Bhadrak and Jajpur between July 26 and 27, said the IMD.
Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir and Bargarh would experience heavy to very heavy rain and parts of Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Koraput were issued warning of heavy rainfall between July 27 and 28.
Fishermen were advised not to venture into the sea along and off the Odisha coast and northwest adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal on July 27 and 28.
A cyclonic circulation between 2.1 and 3.6 km above mean sea level lies over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal off the south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts tilting southwest-wards, stated the IMD bulletin.
