With DJ music beats and dhols, hundreds of voters wearing saffron coloured Namo T-shirts, mufflers displaying photos of Amit Shah and Narendra Modi, were seen dancing and raising slogans in favor of Modi near the voting center in South Delhi.
Two bikers, Satish and Devi Lal Baghel, who had come all the way from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshar to support BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri said that the votes were given to candidate and Modi both.
“The voters are happy with the works done by Modi especially for middle class and Jawans. Due to these developments works and love towards country the citizens of largest democracy in worlds has once again elected Modi to be their Prime Minister again,” they said. Nirmala Mishra, a resident of Sangma Vihar and a worker of BJP said that this is a proud moment for her and her party’s member. “People have voted for Vikas and Modi. Arvind Kejriwal has done false promises to people of Delhi and this is the reason he have not been able to attain even a single parliamentary seat in national Capital,” said Nirmala.
“Bidhuri has constructed various community centres, roads and even he is focused towards connectivity of Metro phase-4 in south Delhi. Bidhuri got votes due to his work in the area,” said Laxmi Narayan Garwa, a resident of Deoli.
Hundreds of BJP supporters had gathered at the voting centre at around 7 am on Thursday. Meanwhile Congress and AAP supporters were seen leaving the counting centre area disappointed after Bidhuri attained lead in the counting.
Several youths who were seen dancing on songs praised Modi for “Ballakot Strike”. “The step taken by Prime Minister Modi after Pulwama attack is something we haven’t seen other PM doing. He stood by his word and took a strong action against terrorist sitting across the border in Pakistan,” said Nischay, a resident of Maidangarhi village. “The history was at the cusp of repeating itself in National Capital once again. BJP had won all seven parliamentary seats in Delhi. This shows people love for Modi,” said Sunil Singh Tomar, a resident of Delhi’s Tughlaqabad.
This will be Bidhuri’s second win from South Delhi seat which once saw Dr Man Mohan Singh contesting on Congress ticket but only to lose to Prof VK Malhotra of the BJP. It would be pertinent to mention here that former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Arjun Singh had won this seat during Rajiv Gandhi’s Prime Ministership. “It is an honour for me to represent this Lok Sabha seat in the Parliament of the country and I will strive hard to meet the expectations my people”, said a buoyant Bidhuri.
