Foreign entrepreneurs who came to participate in International Buyer-Seller Meet conducted field visit on Saturday at Dhaurabhata of Dhamda block, where 18 varieties of fruits are cultivated on a 450- acre of organic orchard.
The farm grows Balanagar strain of custard apple (sitafal) of large variant in 150 acres of land. The team from Saudi Arabia showed keenness to procure the fruit and assured to send a technical team to study the future prospects. The variety has 80 percent pulp. The team also visited the processing plant.
Entrepreneurs from Greece held detailed discussion on dragon fruits and assured to send a technical team. The farm house’s director and JS Group MD Anil Sharma said it has 150 Gir species of cow and their dung is used for organic farming.
The whole farming is done on Israel-model where water and organic fertilizers is decided by machine as per requirement.
The entrepreneurs from North-East also showed interest in custard apple farming. Sharma said Kanker has emerged as biggest producer of custard apple. The benefit for the processing plant is that in minus 200C the pulp can remain safe for a year.
