Doctors will treat patients in OPD from 9 am to 4 pm in all the hospitals of Public Health and Family Welfare Department to facilitate the citizens in the state. The registration in OPD will not be closed till 3.30 pm under any situation. Pathology labs will also remain open from 9 am to 4 pm for the blood-urine test and x-ray facility in the hospitals.
In the order issued today by the Public Health and Family Welfare Department, detailed instructions regarding the duty of medical staff involved in the process of other arrangements and treatment etc. in the hospitals while rescheduling the timings of the hospitals have been given. There will be lunch break from 1.30 pm to 2.15 pm in the OPD time between 9 am to 4 pm in the hospital.
With normal days, the emergency OPD will remain open for 24 hours in the district and civil hospitals on Sundays and holidays. All specialists and doctors will go on rounds in their wards from 9 am to 11 pm. If there is a continuous government holiday for two days in a week, the regular OPD will remain open from 9 am to 11 pm on the second holiday. Regular OPDs will not be closed for two consecutive days in the hospitals.
All doctors and specialists in charge of ward and bed will take rounds of their wards in such a manner that OPD services are not affected on normal days in the Indoor-Patients Department in the hospitals. Emergency services will be available in the district and civil hospitals round the clock. These hospitals will have three shifts from 8 am to 2 pm, 2 pm to 8 pm and 8 pm to 8 am. Any patient visiting the Emergency (even if he came for treatment of minor ailment / symptom) will not be refused diagnosis and treatment.
Pathology, X-ray and Biochemical departments in the hospitals will also remain open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lab technician will be present from 8 a.m. for fasting sample collection. Reports of samples collected till 11 am will be given the same afternoon till 1 pm and reports of samples collected between 11 am to 2 pm will be given the same day between 3 pm to 4 pm.
