BJP on Friday accused the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government of deliberately losing the reservation case in Chhattisgarh high court, Bilaspur.
Notably, the high court stayed the state government’s decision to enhance reservation for OBC’s to 27 per cent in Chhattisgarh which had taken the overall reservation to 82 per cent in the state.
“On an important issue like reservation the Congress government has not failed in playing petty politics. Their political character has been exposed now,” leader of opposition Dharamlal Kaushik stated in a press release.
“Reservation has never been an issue of social uplift or empathy for the Congress. But the party has always used it for their political interests,” Kaushik stated.
The BJP leader claimed that the Congress has itself let its own people to challenge the government’s decision to hike reservation quota. He demanded that identity of those who had filed the case against the government’s decision should be made public. Kaushik alleged that the state government did not defend the case strongly in the court. This is the reason why Advocate General was absent from the court when the case was being heard, Kaushik alleged.
