Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that the Christian community gives the message of human service along with brotherhood, love and peace which the whole world needs the most today. He was addressing carol singing programme held at the CM House before Christmas on Monday.
He said that Christmas is a festival which is celebrated in almost all countries of the world because it gives the message of service to mankind with mutual love and peace. If all of us follow this path, the world can be freed from turmoil forever.
Nath said, “Today I recall my school days while attending the carol singing programme. When I was in school, we would visit the church and participated in the carol singing programme.”
The Chief Minister extended heartiest greetings and best wishes to all the children, fathers and sisters participating in the programme.
Before Christmas, the Christian community gives the good news of the birth of Lord Jesus from door- to-door. Carol singing programmes are organized for this purpose. All people are encouraged to follow the path of Lord Jesus, to walk on the path of brotherhood, love and peace. School children presented the carol singing programme and greeted the Chief Minister on Christmas. The main parts of the Bible were read out on the occasion. The Chief Minister presented gifts to all the children. Santa Claus presented a gift to the Chief Minister too.
Shobha Oza Thomas, PRO Fr Maria Stephen, Father Saji, Fr Alexander, Fr Sunder Raj, Sister Olif and Sister Mary were present in the programme.
