Bal Bhawan felicitates artist Madhushree Hatial

Jharkhand State Bal Bhavan today felicitated traditional Jhumur Singer as well as outstanding choreographer of Jhumur and Chhau Dance, Madhushree Hatial. The purpose of the ceremony was to honor and recognise the achievements of Hatial, a resident of Midnapore, West Bengal, who is also an anchor of Prasar Bharti, Kolkata and Maitree. Presently she is working in various fields of Arts and Culture. She is excellent in writing contents, poems etc. in renowned Newspapers and Magazines.

Besides she is engaged as a teacher under Education Department of West Bengal Government. She has also got many awards and recognition in the field of Art & Culture.

The programme was attended by almost all renowned artists of the city.

In this ceremony, Padma Shri recipient Mukund Nayak, a well known folk singer, songwriter, drummer and dancer from Ranchi, Jharkhand was the Chief Guest.

The other Guests of Honour were Subir Lahiri , Cultural Activist, Shree Meghnad Bhattacharya, Eminent Filmmaker and Jury of National Film Festival Award, Haren Thakur, Eminent Fine Artist, Mrinalini Akhauri and other renowned artists of Jharkhand.The programem started with a welcome speech delivered by Ganesh Reddy on celebrating world’s day of cultural diversity for dialogue and development and addressing all the dignitaries present there.

Ceremony continued with Hatial telling the importance of Folk Art and Culture, After that she was presented with a Memento and a Certificate by Mukund Nayak; thereafter Nayak gave a speech on how the essence of Folk Art and Culture is disappearing among these present generation and making us aware of traditional and local songs in everyday life. He sang a Nagpuri Jhumur song to awake the feeling attached with our traditional art and culture.

The ceremony concluded with Vote of Thanks by Abhilasha, Director, Jharkhand State Bal Bhavan.

At the end of the program, the recipients of National Bal Shree Award Sumit Prajapati, Sumit Dutta and Joyon Mazumdar shared their experiences.
