Amit Shah is present day Chanakya: CM

Wednesday, 06 November 2019 | PNS | Lucknow

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday compared Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah with Chanakya and praised his work in ending the Congress era in the country.
Yogi recollected Shah’s comment that there was no alternative to hard work when he called on him after the BJP’s defeat in the Lok Sabha bypolls in UP in 2018.
“I discussed ‘mahagathbandhan’ with him and he said that let the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and other parties be a part of grand alliance as all of them would be wiped out. He said that even in adverse situation, the BJP could register a huge victory in Uttar Pradesh. He said that hard work had no alternative and it is the mantra of victory. He used to sleep at 2 am and go out for campaigning at 6 am. There is a sense of perfection in his work and its result is before us today,” Yogi said.
The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering during the discussion on a book ‘Amit Shah Aur BJP ki Yatra’ in Lucknow on Tuesday.
Yogi said that there were four prominent personalities whose influence could be seen in the life of Shah.
“The dedication of Adi Shankaracharya, policies of Chanakya, nationalism of Veer Savarkar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment towards the country have deeply influenced Amit Shah. Just like Acharya Chanakya took a pledge to overthrow the Nand dynasty that was root cause of country’s slavery, Amit Shahji pledged to create a Congress-free India,” Yogi said.
The Chief Minister said that other parties did politics at the cost of the country. “The Bharatiya Jana Sangh was the only party which said that the country was bigger than the party. In order to protect democracy, Jana Sangh merged with Janata Party in 1976,” he said.
“When Janata Party could not handle the situation, Bharatiya Janata Party started its journey in 1980. The party formed its first government in the country in just 16 years without compromising on its principles. The slogan of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ presents the basic spirit of Sanatan dharma,” Yogi said.
The Chief Minister further said, “Throughout the journey of BJP, two prominent leaders have emerged. First, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and second BJP president Amit Shah.”
Yogi was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and party’s organisational general secretary Sunil Bansal.
The book’s two authors, Director of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Foundation, Anirban Ganguly, and senior research fellow Shivanand Dwivedi were also present on the occasion.
