A maiden Japan Film Festival will be held from November 15 to 17 in Puri as a goodwill gesture between the people of Odisha and that of Japan. It is jointly organised by the office of the Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Japan Foundation, India-Japan Friendship Center and Chandra Sekhar Academy. Japanese films will be screened at the Sri Krishna Cinema Hall along the Grand Road, close to the Jagannath Temple
Two shows each day in afternoon (3 PM) and in the evening (6 PM) have been designed with the entry made free. More so, underneath English rolling and dubbing has also been made accessible. There will be six shows in three days. The film festival would be a good window into the Japanese life, culture, music, heritage along with recent changes and developments. Students admitted to recently opened IT and Japanese Language Centre in the premises of Chandra Sekhar Academy shall be having a wonderful moment relating a lot many things while watching these movies and thereby a bridge can be made between Japan and Odisha when these students seek a better life-style in Japanese companies in India and Japan, said the organisers.
This will surely help us furthering investment and business ties with Japan, besides attracting Japanese investors looking into the huge potential of raw materials and logistics along with skilled manpower of Odisha, they added.
