Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee once again stoked the squatting controversy daring Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prove his charges against her or else do the sit-ups which in any case “I also would also do if I fail to prove my points.”

The Chief Minister who addressed a whirlwind round of three rallies in South 24 Parganas accused the Prime Minister of peddling lies in Bengal and BJP of humiliating and harassing her which would not go unpunished.

“I will remember everything. The atrocities and humiliations heaped on my State and I will not go unpunished. I have all the records and documents with me. I will take revenge  for what is being done to me inch by inch. All those who are perpetrating the offence should remember this,” Mamata said accusing the Prime Minister of selling “dirty lies” in Bengal.

“Every time he comes here and says that I do not allow the Hindus to perform Durga Puja or Sarswati Puja. I want to ask you all whether this accusation has a grain of truth. He is a liar whom I feel ashamed to call a Prime Minister. I challenge him to prove his charges or do sit-ups in the public and I also will do the same if I fail to prove my point,” Banerjee said, adding the BJP had unleashed a reign of terror in Bengal in the name of elections.

Accusing the saffron outfit of running a parallel Government by using the Election Commission and excessive deployment of Central forces she said, “The EC can do everything within its power. But why the State Government will be by-passed where there is question of law and order.

Today also one of their central force personnel has shot at a TMC worker at Ghatal.”

She warned the opposition parties “the EC or the CAPF will be there for a few more days. Tomorrow it is the State police that will be the master of situations.”

Attacking the BJP for publicising violent ideas she said, “Today they worship people who killed Gandhiji. They have no love for non-violence. In the name of cow protection they have unleashed a band of cow-vigilantes who are creating terror and panic among the people. But I also warn them against doing accesses. After all the Central force will go soon and the BJP will go from power in the Centre. Then we will take revenge in every inch.”
