extended work experience via msc courses

The Coventry University London has announced the launch of six new Masters (MSc) courses with extended professional practice. These courses will be delivered over 18 months as opposed to the regular 12-month timeframe. A few existing MSc courses have also been redesigned to offer extended professional practice. Developed with an aim to increase graduate employability, the extended MSc courses start in September 2019.

The extended courses offer all international students aspiring to study in the UK, the potential to gain important extended work experience in a key international market while developing networks and connections that will help them in their professional journey.

Indian students specifically stand to gain immensely from this extended professional practice.

unique workshop

The ILAMED that provides training and hands-on courses in cosmetology & aesthetic medicine organised a unique workshop  — Cosmetology and Aesthetic Medicine. Also, PG Diploma in Clinical Cosmetology (PGDCC) and Fellowships in Aesthetic Medicine and Medical Cosmetology were awarded to their physician trainees of Kolkata batch at a glittering ceremony on the last day of the workshop.

According to Dr Ajay Rana, Founder-director of ILAMED said: “We are glad to hold this workshop at Kolkata. There is a constant need for trained practitioners and we are providing the required knowledge and practical training in this area through these workshops all across the country.”

Kota has once again seized its quota in IIT-JEE (Mains) examinations bagging 35 positions in top 100 ranks including the 2nd rank. Students of Allen Career Institute bagged 7 positions in the top 20 ranks, once again a making a big mark in IIT- JEE exams, which are gateway to top NITs, IIITs and CFITs of the country. Kevin Martin of Allen Bengaluru bagged second position while Jayesh Singla and Nishant Abhangi secures 4th and 6th positions respectively. Allen Career Institute Director, Brajesh Maheshwari said that  the institute also produced 12 state toppers in as many states. Kevin Martin topped Karnataka, Jayesh Singla topped Punjab, Nishant Abhangi Rajasthan, Pravik Dave Gujarat and Gudipati Aniket topped Jharkhand.

The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) and the University of Technology Sydney’s (UTS’) Faculty of Engineering and IT have extended research cooperation by establishing a new joint research cluster (JRC).

The cluster’s focus areas will include artificial intelligence (AI), character and video recognition, document analysis and biometrics.

Immensely popular fields world-wide, AI research is growing at an incredible rate.

The UTS already conducts extensive research in these areas in its centre for AI and School of Software. The ISI has built strong expertise via research undertaken in its computer vision and pattern recognition unit.

TUITION FEE WAIVER for toppers at IIM-K

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K)  has announced full tuition fee waiver for top-ranked candidates among females, males, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PwD categories.

The IIM-K was the first ever IIM to roll back tuition fee by Rs 30,000 in 2012. This is their second radical step in the direction of making higher education accessible to all deserving students based on merit, combining equity and excellence.

The institute will grant full tuition fee waiver to 12 top-ranked candidates among females, males, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PwD categories who will be joining its flagship Postgraduate Programme (PGP) this June. Top 10 States representing these students’ profile are Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, TN, UP, Haryana, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Telangana and Gujarat.

Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM-K said: “Through this, IIM Kozhikode celebrates its talent and its enduring commitment to diversity.”
